1) Are herbavores, eating mainly plant & grass roots.
2) Do not hibernate.
3) Can produce between 70 & 80 young  per year.
4) Are active year round - especially in winter.
5) Eat their weight daily.
6) Up to 500 voles are common per acre.
7) Can breed as young as three weeks old.
